1️⃣ NVIDIA — now the first company in history to hit $4 trillion market cap, driven by the AI hardware boom.
2️⃣ Microsoft — crossing the same $4 trillion milestone just weeks later.
3️⃣ Apple, Amazon, and Alphabet — still giants, but now playing catch-up in an AI-first economy.
Seven of the top ten spots are held by U.S. tech companies. The dominance is clear: innovation, scale, and AI integration are setting the pace for value creation.
🇮🇹 And Italy?
Our stock market has champions in design, luxury, and industrial technology (think about Ferrari, Moncler, GUCCI, Stellantis, Leonardo, Prysmian), but no Italian company is even close to the global top 50 by market cap.
The gap isn't just about capital—it's about global reach, scale, and investment in frontier technologies like AI, semiconductors, and green energy.
📈 If we want to see an Italian company in this chart in the next decade, we need to accelerate:
• R&D investment well above current EU averages
• Global M&A to scale up fast
• Tech adoption beyond traditional sectors
• A bold HR policy that attracts and retains talent
The global race for value is running at AI speed. Italy can't afford to start from the back of the pack.
